Intelligent Compaction – Reducing Over Rolling & Under Rolling & Increasing Compaction Uniformity

The Völkel Navigator Intelligent Compaction technology provides reliable information on compaction and on-the-fly real time feedback to the operator which helps to:

  • Avoid under compaction (which leading to less defects and longer lasting pavement layers)
  • Avoid over compaction (which damages compacted material, can cause additional importing material to be required and wastes fuel and time) – at least 30% over rolling is common without Intelligent Compaction
  • Identify soft spots
  • Provide 100% coverage
  • Understand base layer material uniformity (pre-mapping or smart proof rolling) after asphalt removal, prior to laying fresh asphalt
  • Have better ‘vision’, enabling them to see a complete picture of the site compaction status, real time on their cab display
  • Gamify their work environment, empowering them by enabling them to deliver better compaction outcomes

If you are working with soils, using Völkel Navigator Intelligent Compaction system in combination with the PANDA Instrumented DCP and Light Weight Deflectometer, there is potential to increase layer lift thicknesses with confidence. This is a construction game changer, helping to increase rates of construction, lower cost, improve quality, reduce risk and reduce your environmental footprint.

If you want to benefit from this exceptionally user friendly and easy to use technology, let’s have a conversation.

FH is now routinely using the LWD with very good feedback and useful engineering data. The equipment is an easy to use Zorn LWD.

The ZFG 3000 is an excellent tool and should be included in any professional contractors equipment list of assets. This tool should have a similar impact on the construction industry as the laser level. The ability to accurately and reliably measure this aspect of ground condition will improve the quality of the work and remove doubt as to the progress of the project.

I bought my ZFG 3000 and on the same day less than two hours later, it had paid for itself. Using this instrument, I was able to demonstrate scientifically, repeatably and independently the quality of the work that we had completed for our client. Ending the disagreement and creating an improved working relationship. Most jobs are not as confrontational as this was however, most jobs are built to a standard. The contractor can now measure as required, to know on site, at the time of testing if this standard is being achieved.

I strongly recommend the ZFG 3000 Deflectometer to any earthmoving, civil construction contractor. Good luck with your projects.

If your after sales service is anything like what I have already received, I think I definitely made the correct choice.

We are delighted to officially announce our Ground Improvement portfolio.

For the last three years, we have been working on extending our offer from, just, in situ testing to testing and improving in situ conditions.

With our ground improvement portfolio, our focus is delivering more sustainable outcomes. Here is what we offer:

On 2 August 2024, geomechanics professionals gathered in Canberra for the Australian Geomechanics Society ACT Insitu Testing Practical Workshop. The event focused on practical demonstrations of key insitu testing methods, including Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), Static Plate Load Test (PLT), Dynamic Probing Super Heavy (DPSH), Light Weight […]

Have you ever wished your Plate Load Test equipment would operate itself? Then our static plate load test with automatically operating battery hydraulic pump is definitely something for you. 🙂 Typically, a hydraulic hand pump is used to apply 15 to 20 load increments over two loading cycles by the operator. One test lasts 20-30 […]
