AGS Queensland Annual Symposium 2022

Dec 2, 2022 | Insitutek

The AGS Queensland Annual Symposium was held on 29 Nov 2022 in Brisbane. Our exhibition stand was manned by Robin Power who had conversations with many of the 160 attendees.

Recent advance in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and testing was the theme for the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) Queensland Chapter Symposium. The program included:

  • Recent advances in bored piles installation monitoring
  • A new Automated DMT tool
  • Drone applications in engineering geology
  • Rapid compaction techniques
  • Innovative re-use of recycled material for infrastructure projects
  • Geotechnical model testing for field applications
  • Sustainable Engineering Design Scale-Up Facility for future dam engineering
  • Recent approach to risk management in geotechnical engineering

We find the Insitutek team extremely helpful and their knowledge of the equipment and its capabilities is a great resource for our staff.

We are using the PANDITO DCP for Level 1 site supervision, it’s very portable and we find it handy for flying into sites.

I would hate to go back to doing the Plate Load Test using the old method using dial gauges. It would be so time consuming, not to mention manually recording and then processing all the results.

We find clients are often looking for ways to improve geotechnical testing outcomes and do it more efficiently at the same time. This drives their buying decision making. Australian Soil and Concrete Testing (ASCT) was a case in point when they were searching for Plate Load Test equipment for their upcoming Collector Wind Farm project. Some of the things that motivated them include: […]
