CPT Crawler

Overview

  • Manoeuvrable in rough or soft terrain
  • CPT Crawler weights range from 10 – 22 tonnes with up to 200kN pushing force
  • Enclosed cabin with flat floor for comfortable operation

The CPT Crawler, for Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), provides the same high production rates and reliability as the CPT Truck, with the advantage of tracks for better manoeuvrability in rough or soft terrain.

Manoeuvring the CPT Crawler is performed from a safe distance with a remote control.

The penetrometer is operated via touch screen or joysyick.

The A.P. van den Berg HYSON 200kN pusher on the CPT Crawler is suitable for making cone tests up to about 40 meters (depending on the soil conditions and the weight of the CPT Crawler rig).

The HYSON 200kN cones is two formats:

  • Professional โ€“ Hydraulic Push / Pull Clamp and Hydraulic Catch Clamp
  • Advanced โ€“ Mechanical Push / Pull Clamp and Hydraulic Catch Clamp

The hydraulic push/pull clamp facilitates fast efficient operation including easily changing from 36 mm CPT rods to 56 mm casing tubes.

Itโ€™s always rewarding when we can bring both our โ€œtestโ€ and โ€œimproveโ€ capabilities to the same project.

This was the case with a recent case study for the application of TERRA-3000ยฎ, our clay soil stabilisation product in the City of Ballarat, VIC, which we tested using the Light Weight Deflectometer.

A bridge approach transition zone is the area where a road or railway track transitions from the rigid structure of a bridge to the flexible embankment or road pavement, aiming to minimize abrupt changes in stiffness and potential issues like differential settlement.

The 5th International Conference on Transportation Geotechnics (ICTG), held in Sydney, marked a milestone in the geotechnical and transportation engineering community. Organized by the UTS Transport Research Centre (UTS-TRC), this prestigious event brought together over 450 delegates from 30 countries, making it a truly global gathering for experts in the field.
